The Cadillac Vistiq has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags help prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Recon doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

The Vistiq has a standard front seat center airbag, which deploys between the driver and front passenger, protecting them from injuries caused by striking each other in serious side impacts. The Recon doesn’t offer front seat center airbags.

A passive infrared night vision system standard on the Vistiq Premium Luxury/Platinum helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The Recon doesn’t offer a night vision system.

Both the Vistiq and Recon have rear cross-traffic warning, but the Vistiq has Rear Cross Traffic Braking (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The Recon’s Rear Cross Path Detection doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the Vistiq and the Recon have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The Vistiq comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck. The Recon’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 14,000 miles sooner.

Cadillac’s powertrain warranty covers the Vistiq 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Jeep covers the Recon. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the Recon ends after only 5 years or 60,000 miles.

The Vistiq’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the Recon’s (6 vs. 5 years).

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Cadillac vehicles are more reliable than Jeep vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Cadillac above average in long-term dependability. With 33 more problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, Jeep is rated below average.

For better traction, the Vistiq has larger standard tires than the Recon (285/45R21 vs. 265/70R18). The Vistiq’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Recon (305/35R23 vs. 265/70R18).

The Vistiq’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Recon’s standard 70 series tires. The Vistiq’s optional tires have a lower 35 series profile than the Recon’s 70 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Vistiq has standard 21-inch wheels. Only 18-inch wheels are available on the Recon. The Vistiq offers optional 23-inch wheels.

The Cadillac Vistiq’s wheels have 6 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The Jeep Recon only has 5 wheel lugs per wheel.

Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires standard on the Vistiq can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The Recon doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.

The Vistiq has a standard driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The Recon’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

The Vistiq has a standard automatic load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Recon doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Vistiq’s wheelbase is 8.9 inches longer than on the Recon (121.8 inches vs. 112.9 inches).

For better maneuverability, the Vistiq Premium Luxury/Platinum’s turning circle is 2.3 feet tighter than the Recon’s (38.2 feet vs. 40.5 feet).

The design of the Cadillac Vistiq amounts to more than styling. The Vistiq has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .29 Cd. That is significantly lower than the Recon (.404) and many sports cars. A more efficient exterior helps keep the interior quieter and helps the Vistiq get better fuel mileage.

The Vistiq uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The Recon doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The Vistiq offers optional seating for 7 passengers; the Recon can only carry 5.

The Vistiq has 34.3 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Recon (145.6 vs. 111.3).

The Vistiq has 1.7 inches more front legroom, 2.3 inches more front hip room, 2.4 inches more front shoulder room, 1.7 inches more rear legroom, 2.3 inches more rear hip room and 2.1 inches more rear shoulder room than the Recon.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Vistiq’s middle row seats recline. The Recon’s rear seats don’t recline.

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the Vistiq’s liftgate can be opened just by waiting momentarily behind the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The Recon doesn’t offer a hands-free gesture to open its cargo door, forcing you to put cargo down if your hands are full.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the Recon, the Vistiq has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Vistiq Premium Luxury/Platinum has a standard heads-up display that projects speed, navigation instruction and driver assistance information readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Recon doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the Vistiq has standard cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The Recon doesn’t offer cornering lights.

The Vistiq’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Recon has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

Both the Cadillac Vistiq and Jeep Recon offer exterior mirrors that can be folded to provide convenience. The Vistiq features standard power folding mirrors, which allow for easy, one-touch folding or unfolding at the driver’s discretion. This provides added convenience when maneuvering or parking, as well as when walking past the parked vehicle. In comparison, the Recon’s foldable mirrors are manual, requiring the driver to get out and physically fold them once parked and unfold them before getting in.

The Vistiq has standard massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the Recon.
